Mark Fitzgerald, interim chief information security officer and executive director for Customer Care in the Office of Information Technology, provided the keynote presentation at INTERFACE Virtual Boise 2021 on Sept. 2.
Fitzgerald’s presentation, “The Office Rethought: Considerations on the Modern Work Environment,” highlighted accelerated conversations between businesses and employees about job flexibility in the age of COVID-19. Whether it be work schedule, location, amenities, or technologies, employees are seeking what they want and when and where they want it. This has led to a host of issues for technologists to consider, support, and create new policies and processes.
Fitzgerald advocated for information technology professionals to have a voice in these policy decisions.
INTERFACE Boise is an annual conference that features local experts and organizations discussing challenges, innovations, and best practices related to information security, infrastructure, cloud technologies, disaster recovery, communications, and other information technology topics.
