Joseph Boeke is joining Boise State University as the new associate vice president for advancement services. Boeke brings more than two decades experience working in advancement to the role, which leads donor relations, prospect development, information and technology systems, and records and gift management units.
“Joe’s extensive experience in advancement leadership will provide Boise State with opportunities for continued growth and success towards fulfilling our vision of creating the best culture of philanthropy and alumni engagement of any public university in the country,” said Vice President for University Advancement Matthew Ewing.
Boeke’s past roles include leadership positions with Bucknell University, Marquette University, and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where he most recently held the position of executive director of advancement information services. He led several advancement services teams and supported division goals at Caltech, including significant data conversion and database implementation projects.
A leader who has a history of building successful campus partnerships, Boeke also has broad campaign experience. He has shared his industry best-practices with other university colleagues as a presenter at several advancement conferences.
“It is an honor to join Boise State University’s advancement team to assist Matthew and President Marlene Tromp in achieving the goals outlined in the university’s strategic plan, Blueprint for Success 2021-2026,” said Boeke. “As a newcomer to the Treasure Valley, I am eager to engage with my colleagues and become a part of the Boise community. I have been greatly impressed with the professionalism and welcoming nature of everyone I have met, and I can hardly wait to assist the division in creating opportunities for our alumni and friends to understand the vision outlined in the strategic plan as well as identify ways to engage with the university.”
