Mark Fitzgerald and Leif Nelson, university adjunct instructors and directors in the Office of Information Technology, presented “Teaching with the tools we support and how that informs our approach to both roles” at the Treasure Valley Adjunct Conference on May 17.
Fitzgerald and Nelson shared their unique experiences as both information technology leaders building and supporting the technology infrastructure required to teach in new online, remote, and flexible environments; and, as teachers adapting to new educational landscapes during a pandemic. They emphasized key themes of “empathy” and “continuous improvement” in their presentation.
The Treasure Valley Adjunct Conference is a collaboration between Boise State and the College of Western Idaho and features presentations on topics related to effective teaching strategies, adjunct faculty support, and creating inclusive classrooms.
