Argia Beristain recently took a permanent appointment as Boise State’s associate vice president for development within the Division of University Advancement. She started work in that capacity on an interim basis in July 2020.
“During my time at Boise State, I’ve helped connect our alumni and friends’ philanthropy with scholarships, building projects and programs across campus,” Beristain said. “I’m pleased and honored to make my role as associate vice president for development permanent, and to continue to improve and enhance this important work with my colleagues.”
In her interim role, Beristain cultivated major gifts, oversaw major gift officers’ work, led the implementation of the Donor Experience Officer program and represented the Division of University Advancement on Boise State’s strategic plan committee.
Beristain has nearly two decades of fundraising and campaign experience, and joined the University Advancement team in 2015. Since starting at Boise State, she has built relationships with some of Boise State’s largest donors, resulting in millions of dollars in gifts to the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, the College of Education, the College of Engineering and the Honors College.
She will continue to manage the university’s frontline fundraising team of college- and unit-based development directors, the Donor Experience Officer Program, the gift planning and annual giving teams.
“Argia has thrived as the interim associate vice president for development and been a tremendous asset to us,” said Vice President for Advancement Matthew Ewing. “I’m pleased she’ll continue her work and leadership of the university’s fundraising team.”
