College of Arts and Sciences faculty Liljana Babinkostova was recently honored with the prestigious Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship. During the fellowship she will join the Research Laboratory on Quantum Computing Theory and Simulation. Quantum computing research involves interdisciplinary theoretical and experimental work from diverse fields such as physics, electrical and computer science, engineering and from pure and applied mathematics. Babinkostova’s research in this lab will be focused on quantum cryptography.
According to the program website, “The U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program offers hands-on exposure to Air Force research challenges through 8- to 12-week research residencies at participating Air Force research facilities for full-time science, mathematics, and engineering faculty at U.S. colleges and universities.”
