Boise State Public Health major Jessica Davis has received a highly competitive Benjamin E. Gilman Scholarship award for her spring 2021 study abroad program in Chiang Mai, Thailand through USAC study abroad. The Gilman Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is an undergraduate program for U.S. citizens of limited financial means to enable them to study abroad, thereby internationalizing their outlook and better preparing them to thrive in the global economy.
“Applying for the Gilman Scholarship only required three things from me: transparency, passion, and a little paperwork,” said Davis. “Receiving the Gilman Scholarship allows me to have innumerable and invaluable life experiences I’m grateful to be the recipient of this scholarship, and I would encourage anyone who is pursuing a study abroad program to apply for Gilman. I look forward to immersing myself in a new culture, meeting new people, and giving back to the Chiang Mai community.”
