Emily Wakild, a professor and program director of environmental studies in the School of Public Service, was quoted recently in Columbia University’s Earth Institute Blog, Glacier Hub.
Wakild’s expertise on national parks in Argentina was incorporated into the article exploring issues of sovereignty and scenery in Los Glaciares National Park. Read the piece on the Colombia Climate School website.
Wakild also presented a talk for the Historiographic Journeys series organized by a consortium of two Peruvian Universities, the University of San Marcos and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
Wakild presented work from her newest project, the Llama Diaspora. Her talk was entitled, “Reflexiones sobre la posición de los animales en la historia con respecto a los camélidos andinos. Llegando a una diáspora de la llama,” and was streamed live on Facebook.
