The eCampus Center is rolling out several new options for faculty development beginning fall 2020. The new, fully online activities will provide faculty and staff with an increased awareness of all aspects of teaching and learning online. Please visit the eCampus Center Faculty Development website for more information and to register. Stipends are available for select activities, as noted below.
Space is available in the following upcoming activities
Introduction to Online Course Design Workshop: This asynchronous workshop provides an introduction to the process of designing or redesigning an online course using the principles of backward course design. Participants may be eligible for a $200 stipend upon completion.
Duration: Four weeks/approximately three hours of work each week
Fall 2020 sessions: Aug. 31-Sept. 25 or Sept. 28-Oct. 23
Effective Online Teaching Workshop: This asynchronous workshop that will introduce participants to the basics of effectively teaching an online course. Participants may be eligible for a $200 stipend upon completion.
Duration: Four weeks/approximately three hours of work each week
Fall 2020 sessions: Sept. 14-Oct. 9 or Oct. 12-Nov. 6
Student Engagement in the Online Classroom Workshop: The focus of this asynchronous workshop will be on ways to actively engage students in online courses. Participants may be eligible for a $200 stipend upon completion.
Duration: Four weeks/approximately three hours of work each week
Fall 2020 sessions: Sept. 21-Oct. 16 or Oct. 26-Nov. 20
eCampus Online Community of Practice: The focus for fall 2020 will be on how to teach fully online high-enrollment courses. The schedule will be set based on participant availability.
One-on-One Consultations: Consultations with either eCampus faculty associates or instructional design consultants are now available. These consultations can focus on how to teach online or how to adapt one or more activities to an online format. Request a one-on-one consultation.
Teaching with Blackboard eLearning Modules: These five self-paced modules are designed to help faculty develop the basic Blackboard skills needed to teach an online course.
