On Friday, June 26, Department of Chemistry student support manager Karen Hammond will be retiring.
Hammond will be leaving a legacy of 17 years of dedication to students and the department. During her time at Boise State, Hammond has served as a lecturer, lab instructor, advisor, student advocate and a leader.
Hammond is a Boise State alumna (B.S. Chemistry, ’76). Her devotion to engaging future generations of scientists was highlighted with an award of Boise State’s Professional Staff of the Year in 2018.
She also frequently celebrated science with flair and creativity as “Lady Argentum,’ alongside chemistry faculty Henry Charlier (aka Dr. Picklestein).
