Greg Hampikian, a biology professor and director of the Idaho Innocence Project at Boise State, recently published the op-ed “Idaho’s exonerees are worth it, Gov. Little” in the Idaho Statesman (paywall).
On March 30, Gov. Little vetoed The Wrongful Conviction Act, which had been passed in the legislature. Once signed into law, the act would have compensated exonerees with $60,000 for every year in prison – $75,000 for those on death row.
