Free quantum computing overview session coming April 30

Research Computing Services in the Office of Information Technology is offering an online Quantum Computing Overview workshop 1-2 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

This free digital session will provide a brief overview of quantum computing as an emerging field in computer science.

Some basic theory will be presented but most of the session will focus on using Google’s Cirq Python library for creating simple circuits. Interested participants will receive guest accounts on Boise State’s R2 compute cluster (if they don’t already have accounts). Installing Python and Cirq before the session will be helpful, as will some familiarity with linear algebra (but not required).

Registration for the workshop by emailing researchcomputing@boisestate.edu. Research Computing Services will send calendar invites to registered participants.
