Boise State’s purchasing director Terri Spinazza will retire on Tuesday, March 31, after serving the Purchasing Department for 17 years.
Spinazza began her career at Boise State in 2002 as a senior buyer after spending 25 years in corporate purchasing at Ore-Ida Food headquarters. When she first started, Boise State was smaller, University Financial Services was spread out on multiple floors of the Administration Building, and most forms were on paper.
During her time at Boise State, Spinazza was instrumental in leading Purchasing through the legislative change that allowed the department to separate from State Purchasing oversight. She also helped to gain approval to increase bid thresholds. Both of these projects improved efficiency and service to all campus departments.
Due to this unprecedented time, the department will not be able to host an in-person retirement party as originally planned. They will thank her for her contributions digitally now and have an in-person celebration when possible.
