Jaclyn Kettler, an assistant professor in the School of Public Service, published an invited article for the American Political Science Association. “Small Potatoes? Do Idaho Primaries Matter?” looks at the upcoming Idaho presidential primaries, noting that 2020 is the first time since 1976 that both major parties have held primaries in Idaho.
Kettler suggests that while the Idaho presidential primaries are still unlikely to garner much national attention, recent election reforms may help attract more candidates to the state and help increase interest and turnout.
