Gautam Basu Thakur, an associate professor in the English department, presented the paper, “Fanon, Postcolonial Studies, and the Politics of Discordant Ontology,” at the recently concluded Modern Language Association’s annual convention.
Basu Thakur also was part of a panel titled “Fanon and Psychoanalysis: In and beyond Postcolonial Studies,” where his presentation focused on delineating the theoretical connections between Blackness (Fanon), death-drive (Freud) and ab-sens (Lacan).
