The fitness challenge is a friendly competition among Boise State employees who train with kinesiology students over the course of one semester to see who improved their health and fitness the most. The Department of Kinesiology congratulates the top five finalists for the gains made during their fall 2019 fitness challenge. Finalists and their departments include:

  • Abigail Figueroa, physics department
  • Annika Galliani, public policy and administration
  • Terry-Ann Gibson, kinesiology department
  • Emily Manny, Center for Global Education
  • Lori Rodriguez, physics department

Faculty and staff committed to 10 weeks of personal training provided by students of the KINES 432: Conditioning Principles class. Student personal trainers develop and guide clients through an exercise routine designed to help participants meet their health and fitness goals.

Students in the kinesiology department would like to thank and congratulate all of the finalists of the fitness challenge who improved their health and fitness this semester. As a result of the challenge, more than $4,880 was raised for the Department of Kinesiology scholarships.

Student trainers included: AnnaGrace Blomquist, Karissa Lindholm, Emma McDonald, Lauren Schembs and Sam Tiller.

Faculty and staff involvement in the fitness challenge gives students a unique hands-on learning opportunity. Most students report that it was one of the most difficult yet significant learning experiences in their time at Boise State. The fitness challenge occurs every fall and spring semester, and is open to all faculty and staff on campus.
