Chemistry faculty Lisa Warner, Matthew King and Owen McDougal, along with recent graduates Leanna Marquart and Matt Turner, published several papers.
Marquart, who defended her Chemistry Masters thesis on Oct. 18, was lead author on “Structure and Bioactivity of KTM, A Computationally Designed Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Antagonist Inspired by α-Conotoxin MII,” in the journal Marine Drugs, and “Qualitative Assay to Detect Dopamine Release by Ligand Action on Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors,” in the journal Toxins.
Turner, who successfully defending his doctoral thesis on Oct. 1, was listed as co-author on both papers and lead on a third, also published in Toxins: “Mutagenesis of α-Conotoxins for Enhancing Activity and Selectivity for Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors.”
