Dr. Tromp’s investiture ceremony and the Center for the Visual Arts Building opening celebration, both scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3, are expected to have a significant impact on parking and traffic on the west side of campus.
The investiture ceremony will take place in the Morrison Center from 2-3:30 p.m., with a reception to follow in the lobby and courtyard. To accommodate guests for the ceremony, the surface parking lot between Brady Garage and the Morrison Center will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Oct. 3.
Additionally, Cesar Chavez Lane from Capitol Boulevard to Brady Street will be closed to vehicles from 3-5:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
Following the investiture ceremony and reception, the Center for the Visual Arts opening celebration is scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. Traffic and parking are expected to be impacted in this area until the event ends.
Those who will be on this side of campus during the events are encouraged to utilize alternative forms of transportation, including the Bronco Shuttle’s blue route, to help relieve congestion on streets and in parking lots.
All of campus is asked to be patient with parking and event staff working this day, many of whom are student employees. The campus community also is encouraged to welcome the guests of these events, which may include some first-time visitors to Boise State, and to show understanding to those who may be inconvenienced.
