Political science professor Brian Wampler was appointed to the inaugural global research board of the Participatory Budgeting Project, which promotes the democratic process in which community members decide how to spend part of a public budget.
The Participatory Budgeting Project received funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to create a global participatory budget hub that supports governments and civil society organizations as they seek to promote the expansion and improvement of new and existing participatory programs.
The first meeting of the global research board will be held in Mexico City in December 2019.
