Michael Strickland, an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communication and Media, recently was appointed by Gov. Brad Little to the Idaho Commission for Libraries. As part of the five-member board of commissioners, Strickland will help set policy that shape Idaho’s libraries.
“Public libraries are unique and irreplaceable sanctuaries, positioned at the heart of our democracy. Our work helps to close the digital divide, increase open access to knowledge, and elevate the less fortunate. To have a nation of informed citizens, we need public libraries more than ever,” Strickland said. “I am thrilled to join my colleagues on the ICfL who are dedicated to information literacy, separating fact from fiction.”
