Heike Henderson, a professor of German in the Department of World Languages, gave a presentation at the sixth annual Captivating Criminality Conference in Pescara, Italy, June 12-15.
Her presentation, “Investigating Crime in Virtual Reality: Bridging the Gaps between Fact and Fiction,” examined the use of surveillance and predictive policing in Tom Hillenbrand’s immensely successful dystopian crime narrative “Drohnenland.”
She also analyzed the potentials and pitfalls of new technologies like virtual crime scene reconstructions.
