Mary Pritchard, professor of psychological science, recently published an article titled “Self-reported eating disorder risk in lean and non-lean NCAA collegiate athletes” in the journal Eating and Weight Disorders.
The article was based on a study conducted with two Boise State alumni, Anna Holdiman Macdonald and Mary Kate McGuire.
Their research found that “athletes, regardless of sport type and gender, may be affected by eating disorder symptomatology” and that “gender differences may be smaller in athletic populations than previously thought.”
