Students and faculty in the Department of Communication won awards at the Northwest Communication Association annual conference April 11-13 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Honorees included Amy Arellano, a lecturer and assistant director of forensics, in the category “Top Faculty Paper in Rhetoric” for the paper, “Permutations of Permanency: Negotiating Tattoo Citizenship;” Samantha Haskell in the category “Top Three Undergraduate Papers Overall” for the paper, “The Exploitation of Queer Bodies and Stories in Media;” and Sarah Lausch in the category “Top Three Graduate Papers Overall” for the paper, “Changing the Language around Silence: Studying Mindfulness in the College Classroom.”
Boise State was the only university to have honorees in each of the three levels.
