The COBE Distinguished Research Professor recently was awarded to Michail Fragkias, professor of economics. A letter of support for Fragkias came from the chair of the Department of Economics, Chris Loucks.
“Dr. Michail Fragkias’ research, creative and scholarly activity demonstrates an exceptional pattern of significant research and scholarly activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, books and international reports,” wrote Loucks. “He is the top researcher in the Department of Economics and has one of the strongest records in research in COBE and Boise State University. Fragkias is a nationally and internationally known scientist in his field and continues to build a national and international reputation researching the intersection of urban and regional economics, land use planning, global climate change and urbanization.”
