Fátima Cornwall, Spanish coordinator in the Department of World Languages, and Amber Hoye, director of the World Language Resource Center, recently facilitated a 10-week conversational Spanish course for sworn officers and civilian employees of the Boise Police Department.
This course helped more than 50 department employees gain basic Spanish skills. The class ended with a “Wrap Up” celebration in which Spanish-speaking community members from the Treasure Valley participated in “speed-dating” style interviews to help course participants try out their new skills.
KIVI TV 6 featured the program. See more here: https://www.kivitv.com/news/first-group-of-boise-police-officers-graduates-department-hosted-spanish-courses
