College of Business and Economics student Holly Bossart was accepted and granted a scholarship for Dordt College’s Ukraine Research Experience for Undergrads (REU). Through this 10-week summer interdisciplinary research program, Bossart will explore the mental health of Ukrainian citizens based on a population-based survey of nearly 5,000 Ukrainian citizens. Bossart will spend two weeks in Ukraine working in collaboration with the Kiev International Institute of Sociology and gaining first-hand knowledge of the culture and politics of Ukraine.
Bossart is one of eight students accepted into the REU out of more than 300 applicants. She is the first student from the Department of Economics to be selected for the program.
In fall 2018, Bossart was honored as the Department of Economics’ “Signature Student.” She is on track to graduate in the spring of 2020 with a double major in economics and mathematics, and a minor in computer science.
