Lisa Brady, professor of history, presented in Twin Falls on Feb. 12 as part of the Herrett Forum Speaker Series at the College of Southern Idaho. Her talk, “A Green Ribbon of Hope: Korea’s DMZ as Nature Preserve” examines the history of the demilitarized zone – from its origins as an armistice line, through its role as a heavily armed international boundary, to its current status as a de facto nature preserve – to explore issues of war, politics and ecological transformation.
