Jessica Wells co-authored an article in the journal Personality and Individual Differences. Her paper, “On the associations between indicators of resting arousal levels, physiological reactivity, sensation seeking, and psychopathic traits,” examines a new study on the association, or lack thereof, between autonomic nervous system functioning such as resting and reactive heart rate, with psychopathy and sensation seeking.
The authors conclude that the results of their study failed to demonstrate convincing evidence of an association between autonomic nervous system functioning and these traits associated with antisocial behavior after controlling for relevant demographic characteristics.
