Alessandro Meregaglia published the article, “James H. Gipson and the Effort to Free Ezra Pound,” in the latest issue of the Idaho Center for the Book Newsletter.
The piece tells the little-known story of Jim Gipson, founder of Caldwell’s Caxton Printers, and his friendship and correspondence with poet Ezra Pound. Gipson worked to secure Pound’s release from a U.S. government hospital where Pound was being held on charges of treason.
This article is part of Meregaglia’s larger research project studying the history of Caxton Printers.
