Pei-Lin Yu gave a series of presentations in East Asia concerning cultural evolution and climate change past and present.
On Dec. 17, 2018, Yu presented the invited lecture “Ethnoarchaeological Projections for Neolithic Crop Adoption among Paleolithic Foragers of Taiwan, the Philippines, and the SE China coast using the Binford Hunter-Gatherer Database” at the PaleoAsia Conference at the Research Institute for Humanities and Nature in Kyoto, Japan.
On Dec. 21, Yu conducted a graduate seminar, “Quantifying Impacts of Climate Change on Indigenous Hunting Knowledge in Taiwan” at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
On Jan. 5, Yu conducted an invited workshop titled “Using Ethnoarchaeology of Pumé Forager-Gardeners and the Binford Hunter-Gatherer Database to Investigate the Case of the ‘Vanishing Farmers’ of the Amazon” at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan
