Karen Pinto participated in the 52nd annual meeting of the Middle East Studies Association in San Antonio, Texas, where she chaired two panels: one titled “Mongols and the World Around Them” and the other titled “Medieval Art and Culture.”
Pinto also presented a paper on her path-breaking identification of the earliest extant mimetic depiction of the moon from early eighth century Jordan that predates Renaissance European depictions by seven centuries.
