SUEZ Water will continue replacing the waterline along University Drive beginning Dec. 12. Work will continue throughout winter break, with completion of the project expected before classes resume. See below for a list of key dates and activities that may affect people with business on campus during this time.
Dec. 12: Equipment will be staged on Manitou Avenue, closing the street from University Drive to Belmont Avenue.
Dec. 14: Expect limited saw cutting on University Drive.
Dec. 15: There will be no work during winter commencement; road closures will be in effect following commencement. The road closure will extend from the Lincoln Avenue/West University Drive intersection east to the South Manitou Avenue/West University Drive intersection. South Michigan Avenue also may be closed during this time.
Dec. 16: Beginning of the waterline replacement. Expect excavation and partial road closure on W. University Drive, southeast of Theatre Lane. A short-term road closure may be in place through Dec. 17 on West University Drive, west of the Student Union Building (SUB). This closure will be temporary.
In addition, on Dec. 16 water outages will affect the SUB, Lincoln Avenue Garage, Lincoln Townhouses, Pioneer Hall, Kinesiology Annex and the Appleton Tennis Center. Water outages will occur between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and should not last more than six hours for any facility.
University Event Services currently is working with event clients who may be impacted by the water outage to make arrangements for events scheduled in the SUB, as access to the facility will be limited to essential personnel. Dec. 17: Water outage likely for Sawtooth Hall and Honors College. Neither outage should last more than than six hours.
Dec. 21: Work will be put on hold for the Potato Bowl.
Dec. 22: Work will be put on hold for the Boise State basketball home game.
Dec. 26: Water outage likely for Boulder Hall (formerly the Academic and Career Services Building). The outage should not last more than six hours.
Dec. 27: Scheduled completion of the project.
