The Graduate School is pleased to announce the launch of JumpStart – and Virtual JumpStart – a new graduate writing retreat offering graduate students a jump on their spring writing projects. The in-person retreat will be held Jan. 7-11 in Riverfront Hall, room 318, with informative workshops each morning to help students navigate the writing process, as well as addressing common problems graduate writers face.
The retreat is free for Boise State students. Faculty and staff working with graduate students are encouraged to share this valuable resource with students.
JumpStart facilitates a positive, relaxed atmosphere, a quiet place to write and writing support from experienced writing coaches. Students also will receive a one-on-one session with a writing coach to set up customized, individual programs for each student.
In addition, a Virtual JumpStart program also will be held Jan. 7-11. This program is designed for online and part-time students. Events will be live-streamed and the Graduate College will provide additional resources designed specifically for these student demographics.
These five-day workshops are intended to help graduate students make progress in their writing and develop a sense of community with other Boise State graduate students.
