A paper by Greg Hill was referenced in a Washington Post article on the adverse effects of excessive coaching turnover.
“Sure, the Redskins have had injuries, but their crisis began long before” quoted Hill’s paper, “The Effect of Frequent Managerial Turnover on Organizational Performance: A Study of Professional Baseball Managers.”
Hill wrote that managerial turmoil had a measurable negative statistical effect. “Too much change leads to a drop in performance, and even the savviest of managers cannot overcome this dilemma.”
