Boise State’s Center for Teaching and Learning was one of three finalists for the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network’s POD innovation award, which was presented at this year’s POD conference in Portland, Oregon. The center was recognized for developing “Sparkshops”, which are 15 minute, active-learning workshops that occur during a department’s faculty meeting. As finalists, center staff presented a poster at the conference titled, “The ‘Sparkshop’:Making Faculty Development Timely and Department-Based,” and were recognized at the conference awards dinner.
