The Stimpson Award for Civic Engagement is given to an individual or group of individuals that exemplify the spirit of civil discourse by bringing together people with diverse viewpoints to address complex issues in a civil manner with the intent of finding mutually agreeable solutions.

During his 15-year tenure, Kustra’s leadership bolstered Boise State’s reputation as a research university. He also oversaw the creation of the College of Innovation and Design and School of Public Service. Kustra also is widely known throughout the Treasure Valley for the weekly Boise State Public Radio program he created and hosts, Reader’s Corner.
