Rob Nyland, along with Vicki Budd, Greg Wilson and Alexis Kenyon of Multidisciplinary Studies, recently presented at the Best of Blackboard Analytics Symposium. Their presentation, “Learning Analytics in Action: Empirical Findings from an Online Program Pilot,” shared results and lessons learned from a recent pilot of Analytics for Learn (A4L) in the online Multidisciplinary Studies program.
In this pilot, the eCampus Center and Multidisciplinary Studies worked together to use A4L to create a process that uses data to identify and help at-risk students in online courses. The results of this pilot project demonstrate that A4L could be a valuable tool for advisors and faculty and impact student success and retention in online programs at Boise State. A recording of the webinar is available online.
The eCampus Center currently is supporting programs that aim to utilize A4L on a pilot basis. If you are interested in using A4L in your online course or program, please email robnyland@boisestate.edu for more information.
