The Idaho State Board of Education has named five finalists for the presidency of Boise State University. Each is visiting campus for one day.
Faculty and staff are invited to attend an open forum with James Lentini from 1:15-2:15 p.m. Monday, April 30. A student open forum will be held from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Both forums are in the Simplot Ballroom BDE, Student Union Building.
A community reception also will be open to the public from 5-7 p.m. at the Alumni and Friends Center.
Lentini has been senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Oakland University since July 2013. As the university’s chief academic officer, he has leadership responsibility for the delivery and quality of all academic programs, research, personnel, resources and supporting infrastructure of the university.
Lentini previously served as dean of the College of Creative Arts at Miami University in Ohio; was the founding dean of the School of Art, Media and Music at the College of New Jersey; and served on the faculty and administration in the Department of Music at Wayne State University.
Lentini received a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California, a Master of Music degree from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Wayne State University.
