Emily Wakild gave an invited talk on April 25 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Facultad de Historia, Geografía y Ciencia Política where she is serving as a visiting professor in the Institute of History. Her talk, titled “Extinction, Centralization, and Protection: Towards a History of Conservation and Science in Patagonia,” explains how conservation provided translational concept through which scientists conveyed the value of Patagonian landscapes.
