Albertsons Library is continuing a fundraising campaign to support the Susan Henggeler Memorial Scholarship Fund for a second consecutive year. Over nearly 48 years, Henggeler used payroll deduction to donate a share of her salary every pay period to student scholarships.
“Susan was a beloved library employee who cared deeply about students. This fund raiser is a way to honor her dedication to Boise State, a way for us to carry on her legacy,” said Dean of the Library Tracy Bicknell-Holmes.
A beautiful, handcrafted, multicolored quilt was donated to honor the memory of Henggeler. With a career at the library that spanned nearly 48 years, Henggeler had the opportunity to mentor and create long-lasting relationships with many student employees. Thus, the Susan Henggeler Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to support library student assistants who have been employed at Albertsons Library for a minimum of one year. More information regarding the scholarship can be found in a previous Update story.
From now until April 30, anyone who donates to the Susan Henggeler Memorial Scholarship will receive entry into a drawing for the handcrafted quilt. Suggested donations are $5 for one entry or $10 for three entries. No donation is necessary to enter the drawing. Donations are being accepted at the Albertsons Library Dean’s Office, or through the “Make a Gift” link (Designation: Susan Henggeler Memorial Scholarship). The library dean’s office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The drawing will be held May 1.
