Boise State to Compete in First-Ever Mountain West eSports Showdown in Las Vegas

Adopted Lemons, CosmoBuster and SaladOnMySki are among the Boise State University teams that will challenge Mango, DrChowder and Verb from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in the first-ever Mountain West eSports Showdown in Las Vegas, March 8-10.

The MW eSports Showdown is being held in conjunction with the MW Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. The event will feature eSports teams from Boise State and UNLV competing in three popular eSports games: League of Legends, Rocket League and Overwatch. League of Legends was developed and published by Riot Sports; Rocket League by Psyonix; and Overwatch by Blizzard Entertainment.

Teams of 15 players will participate in show matches, or exhibitions, from 4-7 p.m. on March 8 and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on March 9 in the Strip View Pavilion inside the Thomas and Mack Center. Admission to the show matches is free for ticketholders to the MW Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. The show matches are a great way for fans to learn more about eSports.

The MW eSports Showdown Main Event will kick off at 9 a.m. on March 10 inside Cox Pavilion. Tickets are $10 (plus UNLVTickets handling fees), on sale now at the Thomas and Mack Center box office or online.
