Karen Pinto recently published the article “In God’s Eyes: The Sacrality of the Seas in the Islamic Cartographic Vision = A través de los ojos de dios: La sacralidad de los mares en la visión cartográfica islámica” in the journal Espacio, Tiempo y Forma.
The topic was the focus of the latest CounterCartographies discussion group meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Feb. 22. CounterCartographies is sponsored by the Malaysia Design Archive and Imagined Malaysia. Pinto participated in the discussion via Skype.
