Cody Jorgensen recently presented his latest research testing the marijuana gateway hypothesis at the annual conference for the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in New Orleans, Louisiana. The findings show little to no support for the argument that marijuana is a gateway drug to harder illicit drugs. Additionally, the results also show that tobacco and alcohol have just as much of a gateway effect to hard drug use as compared with marijuana.
