Condoleezza Rice Documentary Screening Feb. 15

The Center for Idaho History and Politics joins Idaho Public Television and the Idaho Statesman for an advance screening of selections from American Creed. This PBS documentary by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and historian David Kennedy explores whether a unifying set of beliefs, an “American Creed,” can prove more powerful than the issues that divide us.

The screening will take place at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Lincoln Auditorium of the Idaho Statehouse. It is free and open to the public, but registration is requested at Idahoptv.org.

Following the screening, Bill Manny of the Idaho Statesman will moderate a panel discussion titled “Bridging Divides – Civil Discourse in the Western States.” The panel will discuss collaboration on lands issues, an area where Idaho has set an example for the nation on how to build consensus and seek common ground.

More information, including the PBS trailer, can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
