Lane Gillespie presided over the Western Association of Criminal Justice (WACJ) conference in Spokane in October. The three-day conference theme was “What’s Past is Prologue: Trends in Criminal Justice” and featured presentations by criminal justice academics as well as students from throughout the West. Gillespie served as the 2016-2017 President of WACJ.
Gillespie also gave two presentations at the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology in Philadelphia. “Review of Empirical Research on Victim Service Provision in the U.S.” was presented with Boise State criminal justice professor Laura King. Gillespie also gave a presentation titled “The Lethality Assessment Program’s (LAP) Impact on Self-protective Actions and Empowerment Among Victims of Intimate Partner Violence: A Quasi-experimental Design.”
