Maia Ketteridge

Graduate Research Assistant

Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering

Maia Ketteridge

Maia Ketteridge graduated from Whitworth University with a B.S in Biophysics in 2021. As an undergraduate, Maia worked with Dr Phillip Measor to research DNA-Dye probes and microfluidics. Through this research, she developed an interest in DNA origami structures and the quantum properties of dyes. Maia also fostered a love of computational methods through additional computer science courses and independent study.

In Summer 2021, she started her Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering and joined the Materials Theory and Modeling Group under Dr. Lan Li. She is currently working on modeling DNA and/or dye structures using molecular dynamics and density functional theorem (DFT).   Maia can be found playing board games, sailing, and spending time with her dog.
