Undergraduate Research Assistant
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Linnia Hawkins is an undergraduate in the Mathematics and Physics Programs at Boise State University. Linnia joined the Nanoscale Materials and Device Group at the end of her freshman year at Boise State (May 2010). Linnia trained in techniques for fabrication of electrical test structures in the Nanoscale Materials and Device Group as part of the DNA Nanostructures Team. Her current project is to position a DNA nanotube across two electrodes to form a circuit. Nanotubes must be placed by indirect means so the team is investigating manipulation of nanotubes by electric field using dielectrophoresis as well as manipulation by surface chemistry.
She will complete her B.S. in Mathematics and Physics in May 2013 and will pursue graduate studies in Atmospheric Physics.
