Fabian grew up in the Treasure Valley, moving to Boise, Idaho, when he was four years old. He considers himself an Idaho native, and plans to attend Boise State after finishing his two-year degree at the College of Western Idaho (an easy decision since his older sister graduated from Boise State!). Like Victor, Fabian’s interest in science was initially sparked by the movie Interstellar, which got him very curious about space travel. Currently completing his general engineering prerequisites at CWI, he plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering once he transfers to Boise State, with hopes to eventually work at an aerospace company. Fabian’s interest in joining the SSL arose from a desire to experience real engineering work while also learning about different fields of engineering. He is currently learning the fundamentals of atomic force microscopy (AFM) on the SSL’s Bruker Dimension Icon/FastScan system, as well as through an internship in the Surface Science Lab at Micron Technology.
