Undergraduate Research Assistant
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Dave joined the Nanoscale Materials and Device Group at Boise State University after his first semester as an undergraduate student in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering in the spring of 2008. Dave first worked with the fabrication of nanoscale test structures. Since the spring of 2009, Dave has worked on a joint project for Dr. Peter Müllner characterizing nickel manganese gallium shape memory alloys. Dave’s work consists mainly of imaging and characterizing the topography and magnetic stray fields using an atomic force microscope.
Currently, Dave is investigating a unique magnetic domain structure that has recently been found to exist in nickel manganese gallium.
