There is nothing more unique when traveling than to be invited into someone’s home for a meal! This personal touch is a highlight of both community members and Fellows alike. Home Hosted Dinners are designed to give our Fellows a glimpse into American life. Individuals hosting these meals run the gamut from singles to seniors and from large families with pets to groups of friends who’ve banded together to share the experience. You can host any number of fellows from 2-3 to all 25!
Fellows visit a different home each week so are exposed to a variety of lifestyles. You will be provided dietary restrictions and are expected to provide what amounts to a full meal but beyond those requirements – have fun! You can order pizza and salad or cook a Thanksgiving meal – the choice of how you want to share your idea of American dinner is up to you.
You will be supported through this experience with a Home Hosted Dinner Orientation and be connected to the institute leadership team.
Time commitment – one or more Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7:30
