About Dr. Nitz
Ryan Nitz is an award-winning guitarist and has performed throughout North America, appearing as a guest artist with the Boise Philharmonic, Palouse Chamber Orchestra, Boise State University Chamber Orchestra, Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble, Washington State University Festival of Contemporary Art Music, and the University of Alaska Anchorage Guitar Symposium, among others. He is a founding member of the Boise Guitar Quartet, and the Anchorage, Alaska-based Borealis Guitar Quartet.
Ryan holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University, where he studied with Prof. Frank Koonce, and Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Boise State University, where he studied with Dr. Joseph Baldassarre. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Information Resources & Library Science from the University of Arizona, and was a Collection Development Intern at the Stanford University Archive of Recorded Sound.
Ryan lives in Boise with his wife, writer Bethany Maile, and their two daughters.
